Symptoms of Gonorrhea or Chlamydia

Gonorrhea is a difficult disease when it comes to diagnosis of symptoms. Research shows that gonorrhea is prevalent in the age group of 16 to 30. In women gonorrhea is a threatening disease as its effect on reproductive system is drastic. Another problem is women body does not clearly show symptoms of Gonorrhea. So it becomes even more difficult to diagnose it early. Symptoms of gonorrhea generally appear between 2 and 10 days after infection, although it could take as long as 30 days for symptoms to appear.

SYMPTOMS IN WOMEN

  • A common symptom in women is bleeding after sex.
  • Frequent and painful urination with burning sensation.
  • Nausea , fever and vomiting tendencies
  • Bleeding between the periods
  • Vaginal discharge – this mighty be yellowish in colour or in severe cases blood is discharged.

 SYMPTOMS IN MEN

  • Swollen testicles
  • Pain while urination
  • Oral infection – sore throat and tonsil problem
  • Itching in anus area
  • Disturbed bowel movements
  • Stools with blood discharge

Women need to especially cautious about this disease because it might cause infertility. The hazardous bacteria can move to the uterus and then to fallopian tubes causing complications. Any problem, no matter how small, should not be ignored. As gonorrhea shows disguised symptoms, frequent gynecologist check up is recommended.
