Mono is popularly known as Mononucleosis, but in Europe it is also called as Glandular Fever. It is a viral infection which is quite common in very kids and young adults around the world and results in swelling of lymph glands. But this disease can occur throughout the life and especially between the ages of 15-25.  some of the symptoms that occur in children on the inception of mono are :

  • Mild fever (its better to seek medical advice if the fever reaches 102degrees)
  • Listlessness
  • Light fatigue
  • Loss of appetite

In adults it usually takes from one to two months to develop the symptoms. But, sometimes it can take up to 12 weeks for mono symptoms to fully develop. Sopmw o fthe common symptoms found in the adults are:

  • Fever
  • Loss of energy
  • Chills
  • Lack of appetite
  • Bad sore throat
  • Some may also have swollen lymph nodes for the first 2 weeks
  • Pink rash will appear on the body
  • Persistently tender spleen 
  • Extreme fatigue
  • Stiffness of the neck
  • Rapid heart rate
  • Jaundice
  • Shortness of breath
  • Headaches
  • Aching muscles

If these symptoms are not treated properly or one ignores them it can lead to terrible consequences. It is advisable to consult your physician if you find any of these
