Symptoms and Signs of a Miscarriage

The symptoms of miscarriage vary from person to person. But one needs to be very vigil during pregnancy, and if there is any doubt over the following mentioned symptoms of miscarriage, doctor should be consulted immediately.

  1. The commonest of symptoms of miscarriage is bleeding or spotting. Though sometimes bleeding occurs during the first trimester. But bleeding with pain is a sign of caution.
  2. Breasts  might suddenly lose their swelling and tenderness
  3. You may feel pain. Usually you may have pelvic cramps, abdominal pain, or a persistent, dull ache in your lower back. Pain may start a few hours to several days after bleeding has begun.
  4. There may be blood clots or foetal tissues passing through the vagina.
  5. You may have irregular and discomforting bowel movements, usually loose motions.

Sometimes there are no signs of pregnancy loss and you are aware of it only when you go for a regular check up . There is either no heartbeat or embryo development. Only an ultrasound can clear the doubt.

One needs to be extra careful and not get anxious if any of the symptoms occur. You need to consult your gynecologist and handle the situation with lots of emotional strength
