The Most Common Cancer Type: Skin Cancer

Any type of cancer is a matter of great concern for one and all. Everybody wants to be hail and hearty and away from any such life threatening disease like cancer. Of all the cancer types skin cancer is the most common cancer in United States. Early detection is the only way to get rid of cancer. The first thing one should do is to find out any new and suspicious growth on your skin.

People are always worried about skin cancer and wonder what they should look for as an early warning signs of cancer. But unfortunately there is no tell tale sign of cancer. One should observe the changes in the skin and any abnormal marks or spots should not be ignored. This is especially for those who spend most of their time outside and who had lot of sun burns when they were younger.

Signs like brownish marks that appear on the skin and which were not there earlier, moles that are asymmetrical, color variation like brown, tan or black, uneven borders and increasing diameter can be a cancerous mole. If there are any new growths on the skin like spots, bumps, patches or sores and do not heal after 2 or 3 month can be a warning sign of skin cancer.

The lumps that grow in skin cancer have rough, scaly or crusted surface, they can also have flat reddish patches in the skin that grow slowly. Also there can be some rough spots of pink-red or flesh colored on face, ears, back of hands and arms of middle aged or older people with fair skin.

These spots can also appear on the skin of the younger people which is too much exposed to sun.
