When should you see a doctor?

When to see a doctor is a critical question. Going to a doctor has its own psychological overtones. A person who is overcautious might approach the doctor with the first hint of sneeze while some people will keep on trying their home-made prescriptions for the cure and ultimately land up in a difficult situation. Both these are extreme behavior.

1.    Do not panic with the first symptom of disease.
2.    Give the symptom sometime – If you are able to understand the symptom and it is a common, natural problem like cough, cold, viral, fever etc, there is nothing to panic.
3.    On the other hand, do not delay any persistent symptom for more than 24 hrs.
4.    In case of accident rush immediately to the doctor.
5.    In case of infants, always consult the doctor even for the smallest of problems. Assuming that the child will naturally recover can be fatal.
6.    In general doctors always advise to get an annual or six monthly complete, overall checkup. This regular checkup is a healthy practice for it rules out any long term fatal disease. Early symptoms can be quickly diagnosed and medication can begin immediately.

Health is of primary concern; never take it either too lightly or too seriously.
Take Care for it is you who are special and unique.
